Phone Number Registration in Daisychain

Ensuring your text messages reach their intended recipients.

Overview

Recently, new systems have been implemented by wireless carriers (like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) to protect their customers from junk and scam messages.

These new systems include:

1)10DLC, which stands for "10 digit long code" -- which is one type of phone number that Daisychain uses for texting that uses local area codes.

2) Toll Free Verification, which uses toll free area codes.

What Daisychain Does to register clients

Daisychain will register our US-based clients for these verification systems to increase deliverability rates.

To complete this registration, Daisychain clients will be asked to complete a short online form collecting:

  • basic information about their organization

  • information about the text messages they will send

  • a URL of a website that has a sign-up form with disclaimer language (examples below)

  • a URL of your organization's privacy policy (info below)

Sign Up Form Requirements

When registering your phone number, you'll be asked to submit a URL of a website that contains a sign-up form where people can opt-in to receive mobile messages. To ensure your registration is approved, please make sure your form includes the following three elements:

  1. a non-required field for collecting mobile phone numbers

  2. an unticked checkbox to opt-in to receive text messages

  3. disclaimer language, such as:

"By submitting your phone number, you're agreeing to receive text messages from [Your Organization's Name]. You can expect to receive no more than 1 message per day. Message and Data rates may apply. Text HELP for more info. Text STOP to unsubscribe from messages.

Privacy Policy Info

To align with regulations, a privacy policy is required. Online privacy policy generators like Termly can provide a valuable starting point for this.

After creating your policy, ensure it adheres to standards by covering:

  1. Types of user data collected.

  2. Purposes and methods of data collection.

  3. A clear statement against sharing or selling personal information.

  4. Options for users to unsubscribe/opt-out.

  5. Data protection measures.

  6. Policy update processes.

Ensure your policy explicitly states non-sharing of personal data with third parties without consent, except under legal obligations, and provides clear opt-out instructions for communications, especially text messages.

It's crucial to avoid language that implies sharing private data for marketing purposes. A sample statement for your policy could be:

"[Your organization/campaign] upholds stringent privacy standards, guaranteeing that the personal information of our users and members remains confidential and is never sold, rented out, disclosed, or exchanged with any third parties unless explicitly authorized by the user or required by law."

Carefully review sections on information sharing to eliminate any inconsistencies or mentions of data sharing that could lead to use case rejection.

10DLC Specifics

For Daisychain clients using 10DLC, there's a few extra steps that don't apply to other types of numbers.

1) Daisychain will register our clients with the organization that manages 10DLC, which is called The Campaign Registry.

2) If your organization is a "527" (a PAC, political campaign, or party committee), you'll also need to register with Campaign Verify to send messages with 10DLC, and send your Campaign Verify token to Daisychain.
